Banchiung Dumplings (Hay Banchiung)

Ingredients:

  • 250 g Wheat starch
  • 250 ml Water
  • 150 g Pork meat with fat
  • 100 g Mushrooms
  • 1 Tsp Salt
  • 2 Tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 1 Tsp White pepper
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • 10 g Coriander leaves, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp Cassava starch

Red Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp Light soy sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 1 Tbsp Teriyaki powder
  • 1 Tbsp Dark soy sauce

Procedures:

  1. Mix wheat starch with water and bring to a boil.
  2. Leave the flour to cool then separate it into 20 small balls.
  3. Mince pork, chop mushrooms, and mix together with salt, soy sauce, white pepper, crushed garlic, chopped coriander leaves, and cassava starch. Flatten ball of dough into a disc.
  4. Put some of the filling at the middle then fold up the pastry and pinch to seal then steam for 15 minutes.
  5. Mix all sauce ingredients together and warm in a saucepan until it steams then top on each dumpling.
